Urvi means mother Earth. Ecorestoration is the goal of Urvi. We use notions of micro food forests to work with young people to rebuild the ecosystem. The community maintains the food forest’s responsibilities.
Project Urvi by Alarmo is an initiative focused on ecological restoration through the involvement of youth and communities. It emphasizes rewilding efforts, particularly in Kerala, by restoring landscapes with indigenous plant species. The project aligns with Alarmo’s broader mission of environmental conservation and aims to create a sustainable, balanced ecosystem by promoting biodiversity and supporting the local environment.
Through Project Urvi, children and young people are empowered to take the lead in restoring their local landscapes. The initiative includes activities like planting native trees, learning about ecosystem dynamics, and understanding the importance of indigenous species in maintaining ecological balance. It is designed as a hands-on, community-driven effort, ensuring that future generations actively participate in the restoration and preservation of their environment.
