Tree Hugger is a youth focused project, that aims to significantly alter the tourism sector by promoting responsible travel that incorporates pleasure and environmental preservation. Changes in our culture and a shift toward consumerism, which significantly raises our carbon footprint, are the main factors that contribute to our reckless behaviour toward the
environment. Even though environmental education is a required component of the curriculum, our educational system has failed to instil in us the habits of conservation. Travelling is always an interesting activity for most of the people around us. But most of the time irresponsible travel plans leave lot a of trash and environmental damage. Whenever a travel chart is prepared environment is never considered which needs to be changed. During the planning and designing itself, people have to give priority to the environment. Through Tree Hugger, we are planning to introduce responsible travelling hacks which can be adapted to our lifestyle leaving us responsible citizens. During the programs under the Tree Hugger project, we will provide opportunities to experience the traditional methods of environmental conservation as well as adaptations.
